Darco is the son of French/Belgian/Dutch/International Champion Emberez Apollo and Bintje Van De Paterhoek. This has proven to be quite a successful breeding; Darco is littermate to Ch. Dillen Van De Paterhoek and full brother to Ch. Enferno Van de Paterhoek.

Darco is an excellent example of the breed. He is such a complete dogue with a build that conforms perfectly to the standard ratios. He has an excellent head type, correct shape and proportion with great expression. His build is strong and low to the ground with great angulation in the front and rear. It’s always a pleasure to watch Darco move; he is amazingly athletic and agile for a large breed dog. We are proud to have Darco in our kennel and extend our gratitude to Bart De Croo of Van de Paterhoek for sending us this inspiring and exceptional boy.

Darco is not fond of the show ring; however, in his first show, the 2006 DDBS National Specialty, he received an Excellent rating from FCI judge Luis Pinto Texeira. In June, 2007, we entered Darco in the Canadian Dogue De Bordeaux Club National Specialty and he placed 2^nd in a very strong Open Male class under highly respected FCI judge Philippe Serouil. M. Serouil gave Darco a rating of excellent and placed him over many champion males. Additionally, we were fortunate to have Professor Raymond Triquet critique Darco; he had nothing but positive remarks saying he was an excellent example of the breed. Darco has also won numerous best of breeds, best of opposites, as well as a group placement.

To date, Darco has passed his echocardiogram, CERF, Von Willibrands, and thyroid health tests; please contact us for further information regarding his health tests.

12/17/07: Darco has passed his OFA elbows, shoulders, and patellas at the age of 42 months!

We attended the 2008 DDBSA National Specialty in CO and are excited to report Darco placed 4th in Open Male Class. He received an "excellent" rating under FCI judge Anne-Marie Class.

In the 1st weekend for the DDB to compete in AKC's Working Group, we're thrilled to report Darco earned his 1st AKC major by winning Best of Breed at the National Capitol KC show in West Friendship, Maryland.
